This long-lasting marine wax
cleans, polishes and protects in one step.
This is one of the world's
largest selling marine "waxes" from a company that has manufactured
OEM marine coatings for over a hundred years. That's a strong heritage
especially when you consider the parent company is Akzo Nobel, Sweden. The
entire Interlux product line came to be because Akzo Nobel found poor quality,
boat care products were harming their marine coatings. Their chemists worked
directly with the coating engineers to develop superior products that clean,
protect and beautify both gel coat and painted marine finishes without harming
the surface.
Whatever the provenance,
Interlux Premium Marine Wax with Cleaner is a winner. It cleans, polishes
and protects in one application. It can be applied easily by hand or
dual-action polisher to create a high gloss, low friction, surface that resists
sun, salt, dirt, grease and marine scum.
One feature I particularly
like about this wax is it's long working time. It can be applied in direct
sunlight without chalking and it buffs off easily without streaking. I can see
why this is one of the world's largest selling marine waxes. It's a very
forgiving wax which allows the novice boat owner to get perfect results every
time. Premium Marine Wax with Cleaner is safe for use on fiberglass, wood, metal
and painted surfaces.
For those of you that are more
familiar with car care products, Premium Marine Wax with Cleaner is like a
Swedish, marine version of Klasse All-In-One. It does everything in one easy
step but enthusiasts can use the companion UV Protectant & Wax Sealer to
extend the gloss and durability. Klasse vs. Interlux, my vote goes to Interlux
for marine applications because it has a STRONG solvent cleaner to penetrate and
clean deep into the gel coat's pores. (Do not use Premium Marine Wax on your
car's clear coat finish!)

Dual-Action Machine
Application:
Shake bottle before
using. Apply two 6 to 8 inch lines of Premium Marine Wax on the surface. We got our
best results using the Porter Cable 7424
Marine Polisher which
came with a 6 inch Hook and Loop Backing Plate and a 6-1/2 inch,
GCM-F6, Foam Gel Coat Finishing Pad. Set the speed control on
the polisher between 3-1/2 and 4. With the machine off, use the foam pad
to spread the wax on the surface. This coats the pad and the surface
with wax. Now place the pad on the surface and turn the machine on.
Work on areas of 2 to 3 square feet. Go over the area in an up-and-down
motion and side-to-side motion until the wax starts to dry. Buff off
residues with a dry Microfiber
Buffing Cloth. After waxing, finish with a coat of
Interlux UV Protectant & Wax Sealer applied by hand.
Usage: As
a rough guide, figure on one bottle for every 18-20 ft of length for
waxing all surfaces above the waterline. A 35 ft craft will probably
require 2 bottles.
Buffing: This
wax leaves a very light film which is hard to see especially on white gel
coat surfaces. I found it easiest to work in sections of 2 to 3 square
feet, wiping and buffing each section before proceeding to the next
section.
