Wool Polishing Balls

These Wool Polishing Balls make shining billet wheels and diamond plate a breeze!

Faster than a speeding applicator. More powerful than a Microfiber pad. Able to polish large wheels in just minutes. It's the new Wool Polishing Balls from Lake Country Mfg! These balls allow you to polish and shine surfaces and angles that regular wool pads can not reach.

Made of 100%, 4-ply, twisted wool woven into a tough rubber core, these polishing balls will not fall apart under demanding usage like competitive products. Designed for polishing billet aluminum wheels (without a clear coat) to a brilliant shine, these balls can also be used on gel coats, fiberglass and other composite materials. A carbon steel hex shaft prevents slippage and is compatible with standard quick connect systems.

For most polishing applications, we prefer using these balls with a cordless drill keeping the rpm around 1000.

Two sizes are available.

The 3 inch Wool Polishing Ball is my favorite for polishing billet wheels and hard-to-reach areas on personal watercraft and ATV's.

The 5 inch Wool Polishing Ball is best on larger surfaces such as diamond plate and for removing transom exhaust stains on gel coat.

Polishing Gel Coat:

To remove minor stains oxidation and restore gloss, I use Gel Coat Labs Gel Coat Fine Cut Polish with the 5-inch Wool Polishing Ball.

  1. Spread or dab Gel Coat Fine Cut Polish over a 3 square ft area using a dry cloth or applicator pad.
  2. Place 5-inch Wool Ball on your cordless drill and set the speed to "high" or 1000 rpm.
  3. Work ball over the surface in an up-and-down, back-and-forth motion using medium pressure. Reduce pressure as product starts to haze.
  4. Buff off residues by hand using a clean Microfiber cloth and inspect the finish. If gloss is bright and uniform continue to the next section. If surface is still dull (chalky) and/or stains remain, you may need to switch to Gel Coat Heavy Cut Compound.

Cleaning Wool Polishing Balls

Fill a bucket with about two (2) inches of water. Add a full packet of Snappy Clean Pad Cleaner. (As an alternative, you can add an ounce of Micro Restore Microfiber Cleaner) Insert the ball on your cordless drill in the bucket, set the speed to "high" and work the ball over the bottom of the bucket and around the sides of the bucket. DO NOT attempt this with an electric (plug-in) drill! Rinse ball with fresh water, hand squeeze out excess water and allow to air dry. Balls can be washed and reused over and over.
